The three websites I use:
Glogster is one of the free poster making tools which allows students to create colorful, animated posters with many different animations as well as photos, video and audio. From my personal experience I know students find it easy to work with the site. Normally, I plan for at least two sessions of 1,5 hrs each and start with a tutorial on how to use the website. Students have to sign in before using the website ( either can set up their own account just with an email, or they can sign in with a Facebook account). Once logged in, you have to decide on the template you are to use( I suggest wide blank glog, not a ready made template), analyse the dashboard , as well as all the functions available for editing. The tutorial below shows the main functionality of the site so it is worth watching. There is also an educational option of the website( with a free one month trial) in which you can set up your own classroom and set up projects. If you plan to use it as one-off presentation tool, there is no point in paying extra money. Here are some of the examples of glogs done by my students. The projects can vary from easy presentations (to accompany writing classes) to even more complicated ones (with more text). They can be used for all levels and all all ages. Once finished, students can present in the classroom or share via emails. |
